Introduction
Private instruction is offered to students of all ages and levels. Approximately 10% of our students are adults. Nearly third of our school is comprised of students in private lessons, which are offered to adults, older students and those graduating from the Keys for Kids curriculum. Private instruction is the core of music education and provide a great opportunity to learn to play an instrument or to continue building on existing knowledge and skill levels. Our faculty is qualified to teach beginning, intermediate and advanced students. Each student is matched with the compatible teacher after an initial placement interview. Many opportunities are available to students who want to perform, as well as enter competitions. New students are welcome throughout the year whenever space is available.

About the Inctructor
Emma Colligan holds a Master of Music in Violin Performance with an Emphasis in String Pedagogy from the Longy Conservatory of Music in Cambridge MA, and a B.M with Honours from the University of Auckland New Zealand. Emma is a certified Suzuki teacher in New Zealand, and has experience in teaching violin to children from age 3 - conservatory level. Emma has been a member of the National Youth Orchestra of New Zealand since the age of 15, and has also played with The Christchurch Symphony, Wellington Sinfinonia, Dunedin Sinfonia, and the Charleston Symphony in SC. Emma was the recipient of many awards in New Zealand including The Aotea Peforming Arts scholarship, the New Zealand Post Young Musicians Award, and a Young Performers Scholarship from the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand.

30-minute lessons: $510 per semester
45-minute lessons: $740 per semester
60-minute lessons: $975 per semester
