Music instruction studio opens in Lexington
Thursday, September 30, 2004

Inga Magid, well-known founder of the "Keys for Kids" music education program, has opened a new music studio in Lexington to serve the northwest community. The studio will offer both group and private instruction in piano, as well as private lessons in violin.
A music theorist, educator, lecturer and pianist, Magid is best known locally for Keys for Kids.
"At a very young age, children are far more capable musically than many people think," said Magid. "That's why I developed the Keys for Kids program. I wanted to help children have lots of fun while taking full advantage of their musical abilities."
The goal of the program is to develop a real understanding and appreciation of music as well as the ability to play music. Courses are taught in small groups organized by age, and parents attend along with their children in classrooms equipped with an electronic keyboard for every child.
Magid's program is unusual in that even the youngest beginners learn keyboard skills and music theory from the very first day.
For information on the program, visit the Web site www.keys-for-kids.com, or call 781-274-9729.
